Jennifer D. Kerner

LCPC, NCC, RPTS

Jennifer received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Utah State University in 1990 where she specialized in adolescence and worked with the juvenile detention center in Logan, Utah. She then moved to Kentucky where she worked as a psycho-social rehabilitation worker with the children and adolescents of Appalachia as part of the Bluegrass IMPACT team.

In 1992 Jennifer accepted a position as the head researcher on an adolescent mental health grant with the University of Washington and the Colville Confederated Tribes under the direction of Dr. Jan Bacon. It was here that she gained a great love and respect for the Native American people.

In 1996, Jennifer received her Masters Degree in Counseling with a specialty in school counseling from Idaho State University. She worked as an elementary school counselor and junior high counselor for 8 years in a local school district. During this time Jennifer worked part time as a mental health clinician but chose to become full time in 2003. She has developed a specialty in play therapy and sand tray therapy and has been trained directly by Dr. Gisela Schubach De Domenico who developed the Sandtray WorldPlay Technique.
